I got to sew something for myself, for once! I bought the Amelia pattern from Violette Field Threads in both girls and missus, so when I went to Hobby Lobby I made sure to buy enough fabric for two dresses. I picked out a floral print (very popular at this time) in a flow-y knit fabric with good drape. As perfect as the fabric was for this projects, my gosh it was a pain to work with. Awful. pain in the rear squared. The only upside was that this pattern-being made for knits-sewed up pretty quickly once I tamed this devilish fabric. I think the hardest part was the skirt. Getting all that slippery, stretchy fabric to lay exactly straight so that I could cut it to the right length was a beast. Despite that, I was adventurous and added pockets. I made the dresses maxi length so Eesa could wear it in the years to come. And now, years later, she still wears it, although it is no longer a maxi dress on her! Mine still fits me, yay. We still wear these dresses occasionally on Sundays for church. I really like these dresses. It is nice to sew something for myself, and I love that we match and so does Eesa:

I love the blue background with the pink flowers. It's my favorite color combination for this dress style.
