The Silly Tree Dress
This has got to be the silliest dress I have ever made! I made it on a whim a couple of months ago, in an attempt to use up some tacky leaf-print fabric I have had in my stash for years now (got it for free!). I didn't want to put in a whole lot of effort into this project when I started, so I made it a pillowcase top with an elastic casing for the waist. Then I thought it would be cute to put a tree on the skirt--something to serve as a focal point. It was made from felt and really makes the dress! I am pleased with the way the tree turned out. This dress would be perfect for Earth Day (whenever that is). Elisa really likes it, though she just wears it around the house. Not the type of dress to wear in public (for Elisa anyway) but I think it's cute, though Elisa's daddy says it looks like a paper bag!

Arbor (tree) Day is in April. I have a picture as a kid of sack dresses we made from brown paper dry cleaner bags and added a belt. It's a cute house dress for her, and if you ever run out of Halloween costume ideas, this could work!
