Black/Pink Floral Print Shirt

The best thing about having a serger is that it gathers and sews at the same time!  I've been taking advantage of that to it's fullest extent.  It really is a HUGE, huge time saver.  I made Elisa this shirt awhile back and it was so easy thanks to my serger :)

Rockstar Hairbow

So Michael's carries glitter ribbon and I was so excited to finally find glitter ribbon that wasn't wired! What's more, Michael's was having a buy-one-get-one-free when I found out so of course I went crazy and bought a bunch!!  I got to work right away and made Elisa this awesome hair bow.  I love it, it is one of my favs.  I love that it is so sparkly---and since pink and black is very in style right now, it matches with a lot of her outfits. When she wore this to the store, she got so much attention!!  What a little show-stopper she is in this hairbow!

"Angel" Hair Bow

I saw this hair bow on Etsy and really, really wanted it for Elisa.  It wasn't too badly priced either, just over $10, shipping included, but I wanted to make it myself.  But by the time I bought everything, I might have well as just bought the one on Etsy. The ribbon-$4 (2 sizes, $2 each), feather-$2, Bling-$2, and hairbow-$1).
BUT--I did have enough left over to make my sister the same one and I still have leftover ribbon and feather, so in the end making one was still better than buying one for me.

P.S.--I did trim the ends a bit more after seeing these pictures so they are not hanging in her face.

Boutique-Style Embelished Shirt

I saw a shirt almost exactly like this a boutique in the mall, with a price tag of $29.  Way over my price range, so I figured I would just make one myself.  Make is an overstatement-- "attach stuff to shirt" is more accurate, there wasn't much "making" involved.  Well I guess the bow.  But it literally took me 10 minutes to put this shirt together.
I bought the shirt for $4 at walmart, the rhinestone decal was $1 at hobby lobby, and the ribbon was $2 at walmart.  So $7 for this shirt.  Plus a hair bow.  And lots of leftover ribbon.  I think we make out well.  She gets lots of compliments for this easy, cheap, adorable shirt!

"Cotton Cady" Summer Dress

This dress I made up the design and pattern all myself :).  I used a very stretchy knit so it was a new experience making this, but I think it turned out adorable! I love the skirt and the neckline.  I got the fabric on clearance so it only cost between $5-10 to make, with lots of leftover fabric.  I can't wait till she wears it this summer!

Baby Gaga

Oh wow, I have so many things to share with you all, but I'll start with the latest.
This next creation was impromptu--I just had this song in my head and thought it would be funny if I put on a onesie.  I love this shirt because it is so amusing on several levels. And I just love how it turned out! I used fabric transfers (you can buy them at Walmart-you just print whatever the heck you want and iron it onto a white shirt) for the text and glued (craft glue) sparklies on and put a little bow.  So easy!

Ribbon Flower Onsie

This project was so cheap, so simple, and so so cute.  I will definitely be making more of these!

It is cheap because I buy the "value" ribbon at Walmart (I think it is a dollar or two).  It actually works best for this project because it is thin and flimsy.

It is simple because it requires only 3 steps:
1. Gather
2. Arrange
3. Glue

And look how cute it turned out:
